Whats-TrendingFor the most part, the Canadian coverage of the last few days showed how to cover breaking news like “sensible adults,” as Mother Jones wrote. Then there was this one tiny exception. Anderson Cooper was visiting Ottawa to cover the events, and was spotted by Sun News contributor Vandon Gene who asked if he could get a photo. Gene then took to Twitter to vent his anger and accuse Cooper of “exploiting this tragedy by flying to Ottawa from NYC.”. Cooper responded with a lesson in class. The reporter in question was fired by his employer.

Ed Sheeran is sorry that he called Miley Cyrus a stripper following her now infamous performance at the VMAs last year. he admits in new interview with U.K. newspaper The Sun. “I do feel bad about it as I’d be f**king livid if someone said that about me.” He adds, “My general point was I wanted her to sing the songs so people could see what an amazing artist she is. I just worded it wrong.” Here’s hoping this unlikely pair will go on to collaborate on some music and become BFFs.

A Spanish casting call for a Games of Thrones battle scene ended up crashing the production company’s servers when 86,000 people applied for only 600 roles. Entertainment Weekly reports that the Fresco Film production company had to purchase new servers to handle the overload of fans. While the show typically shoots in Northern Ireland and Croatia, it added locations in Spain for scenes set in the fictional country of Dorne. “It’s been a great, uplifting moment for the country,” James Costos, the U.S. Ambassador to Spain said. “There’s tremendous excitement all over Spain, and it highlights the fact there are incredibly talented people here.”

What's Trending#ottawastrong and #canadastrong are taking over twitter and Facebook today. Many people sharing stories and encouragement, banding together to move forward with life and maintain our identity as Canadians.

I think we can all agree that the Canadian media coverage of yesterday’s tragedy has been just phenomenal. pure class and so contrasting to our american counterparts and their tabloid news style. I saw an ABC Detroit action news cast and I gotta say it was a bit funny, they were flashing a pic of Justin Trudeau while talking about Stephen Harper. Hello…it’s called Google.
That doesn’t mean that our american counterparts aren’t embracing us in this difficult time. Last night of course the Leafs and Sens game in Ottawa was postponed because of the events and as a sign of solidarity this happened at the Pittsnberg & Philly game:

Don’t forget to wear red and a poppy today and remember to love each other XOXO.
