Vale-Hope Air

A new partnership between Vale and Hope Air will be a big benefit for those who have to travel out of the city for health care.

Vale is donating $100,000 over two to years that will go towards 300 free plane tickets for area residents.

V-P of Vale’s Ontario and U-K Operations Kelly Strong says the emotional and financial strain for some low income families can be overwhelming.

Hope Air Executive Director Doug Kellar-Hobson says instead of a five hour car ride, the trip can be cut down to less than an hour.

Last year Hope Air arranged more than 200 flights for residents of Greater Sudbury with the goal to make sure no resident of Greater Sudbury will miss a medical appointment out of town because of travel costs.
