*****UPDATE*****

Greater Sudbury Police have a description of the suspect who held an elderly couple at knife-point last night in Coniston.

The man was white, stood between five-foot-eight and six feet tall, was in his early 20’s, had a thin build and was wearing dark clothing.

Officers with the Criminal Investigation Division and Break-Enter and Robbery Unit are canvassing the area in hopes neighbours might have seen something.

Police believe the suspect chose the residence and the home invasion was not random.

An elderly couple in Coniston were the victims of a home invasion last night.

Greater Sudbury Police say the male suspect knocked on the door and once inside used a knife to cut the phone lines and demand money.

The woman was able to run to the neighbours to call police and the suspect fled on foot.

The victims -both in their 80’s- were treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect hid his face with a hoodie and glasses.
