Transit

By Nick Liard

Local teens are encouraged to use public transit this summer.

The “Ride the Bus on Us” program is a city initiative to get youth familiar with the transit system.

Anyone between the ages of 12 and 24 can show their library card or other identification at any library branch to apply for five free rides.

There are just 21-hundred passes to distribute so they’re given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

This is the seventh year for the program.
