Blue Green Algae Found In Richard Lake

Blue-green algae has been detected in Richard Lake.

The Sudbury & District Health Unit says recent tests showed the bacterial toxin in the water.

The blooms can move around with wind and water action, give off a foul smell and look like pea soup.

Those who would normally use the lake for drinking or bathing should avoid the water where the blooms appear.
