A familiar face is returning to Greater Sudbury to help deal with any complaints about potential city council violations.

Sudbury City Council decided not to search for its own ombudsman, but instead will use Ontario Ombudsman, which is currently Andre Marin.

It was one of four recommendations made last night to deal with accountability and city complaints, including where complaints will go.

Council also decided to implement a formal Complaint Resolution Process and look into the extent of lobbying in the city,

These changes are being made ahead of Bill 8 which will expand the Ombudsman’s current mandate to also include publicly filed municipal complaints.
