The names and details in a fatal collision that killed one and injured two more on Highway 17 Friday night have been released.

Around 10 pm OPP responded to the scene near Sleepy Hollow Road where a westbound SUV with two occupants struck a moose, then was involved in a head-on collision with an eastbound car.

The driver of the SUV 67-year old Joseph Schofield of Cutler was pronounced dead at the scene while the passenger 67-year old Marella Schofield was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the eastbound car was also treated for non-life threatening injuries and the investigation is ongoing.

The OPP say wildlife is unpredictable so reduce your speed at night, in the rain or fog.
