Several provincial politicians have convinced the OPP to review its search and rescue capabilities across the North.

It was in early May when it was learned the provincial police were planning to move a Sudbury-based OPP chopper to headquarters in Orillia.

Sudbury M-P-P Glenn Thibeault took his concern to Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, Yasir Naqvi, who in turn spoke with the police force.

The review should take until early August.

Right now the chopper is in Toronto for the Pan Am Games, which is typical when large scale event are underway within the province.
