Beach

Add one more popular beach to the list of those posted due to blue-green algae.

Water tests from Main Beach at Bell Park on Ramsey Lake have tested positive for the dangerous bacterial toxin.

Last week, the Sudbury & District Health Unit posted warnings at five beaches on Ramsey Lake, which also showed signs of blue-green algae.

Those were Moonlight, Camp Sudaca, Bell Park Amphitheatre, Bell Grove and Canoe Club beaches.

All still remain under the advisory.

Health officials say if residents see an algal bloom they should avoid swimming there, however if there is no bloom present they can use the water for recreational activities.
