The children of an orphanage in Kenya are hoping to get new uniforms this fall, as long as a funding campaign, by a Sudbury native is successful.

The Go-Fund-Me-Page for the uniforms for Zawadi la Tumaini was created by the Founder and Director, Jacqueline Villeneuve.

She hopes to be able to buy the uniforms and deliver them to the home in August.

The goal is to raise $900 and so far the campaign has reached a little over halfway.

Villeneuve says any money left over from the campaign will go to food expenses.

She set up the orphanage in Kenya three years ago, when she was just a teenager.

It provides school and housing for 25 children.
