Federal NDP leader Tom Mulcair made his way through Sudbury today as his Ontario Tour for Change wraps up.

He stopped in at one of over 8 thousand small businesses in Sudbury, the Outside Store, to announce his party’s plan for small business owners in Canada.

Mulcair announced a plan to cut the small business tax rate from 11 to 9 percent, and says its a plan to help small business owners who create 80% of all new jobs in Canada.

Mulcair also says that Sudbury is a key piece to the NDP puzzle, as Sudbury as been without a federal representative since former NDP M-P Glenn Thibeault left the party to run for the Liberals in the Sudbury provincial byelection.

Mulcair has stops in Sturgeon Falls and North Bay before the eight day tour comes to a close.

A byelection is scheduled for October 19th in Sudbury, but it’s believed a general federal election will be called for that day.
