CheckBeforeYouEat

Want to know how well your favourite local restaurant did on its last health inspection?

The Sudbury & District Health Unit has added a new element to its food safety inspection results disclosure system: a voluntary decal program called “Check Before You Eat”.

Environmental Support Officer, Ashley Derochis says food premises’ can post the decal at their entrance way to direct customers to the health unit’s website.

Each decal has the health unit’s website and a Q-R code for mobile devices, so inspection results come up quickly.

There are 1,600 food establishments in Sudbury including restaurants, grocery stores, food banks and convenience stores and they are inspected once, twice or three times a year based on their level of risk.

The results are from the previous twelve months.
