The Rainbow District School Board has re-newed Education Service Agreements with 11 area First Nations.

Chair Doreen Dewar says the agreements reaffirm the board’s commitment to First Nations students.

Dewar says heritage and the First Nations history are vital components.

The agreements take into account seven social factors including linguistic perspectives and school-community involvement.

Dewar says input of all 11 First Nations are important to the success of the board’s advisory committee.

The agreements are in effect until August 2018.
