Two annual initiatives launch tonight to help keep impaired drivers off Sudbury streets over the holiday season.

Operation Red Nose and its volunteers begin tonight heading out to pick up party-goers and their vehicles to make sure both get home without incident.

This option is available Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during the holiday season, until December 31st (New Year’s Eve).

Call 675-NOSE for volunteers from Operation Red Nose to help get you and your vehicle home after you’ve been drinking.

Also tonight Greater Sudbury Police launch their Festive RIDE campaign.

Police officers from the Traffic Management Unit will have stops set up at undisclosed locations to check for impaired drivers.

This campaign also runs until the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
