Manitoulin OPP are taking steps to crack down on those motorists speeding through Community Safety Zones.

After complaints, police are stepping up enforcement in several areas throughout the summer months.

Constable Steve Hart says they recently found 80% of drivers were going faster than the posted 40 kilometre speed limit near Central Manitoulin Public School in Mindemoya.

He calls that an accident waiting to happen.

Police remind motorists that fines within a Community Safety Zone are doubled.
