For the second time as Mayor, Brian Bigger addressed the business community in his annual State of the City Address, saying the city has undergone some big changes over the past year.

He highlighted projects like the Water Sports Centre, Health Sciences North Research Institute and securing funding for the Maley Drive Extension as positive growth.

Bigger says they will follow their strategic priorities for the next year.

He touched on some challenges as well, like the high unemployment rate in Sudbury and says there are positive signs looking forward.

55 new business opened this year to date, compared to 69 all of last year.

Bigger emphasized the need to be “greater together,” and to be proud of Greater Sudbury.

In terms of big projects like an events centre and new arena, Bigger says the city has never been so close to having these dreams become reality.
