Greater Sudbury Police involved in an early morning pursuit.

Around 1:30 a.m, an officer saw a pick-up truck driving erratically in the area of the Kingsway and Lloyd Street.

The pick-up took off at a high rate of speed, went around a spot check using the sidewalk, nearly hitting a lamp post and the officers with the pursuit continuing for 2.5 kilometers where two police cruisers were waiting at the intersection of Falconbridge Road and the Kingsway.

The pick-up turned into the Ambassador Hotel parking lot, where both the driver and passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle and fled on foot.

A female passenger was caught right away while the male driver was found hiding in a dumpster

The female was released, but the driver faces several charges including Dangerous Driving, Flight from Police, Stunt Driving and Driving without a Licence.
