Robbery Attempt Failed

Greater Sudbury Police responded to a robbery in progress on Spruce Street and have now arrested two males and two females.

On Thursday morning four people who were known to a homeowner tried to kick down a door and a window but were stopped by the owner who then called police.

The four were able to steal a leather coat before leaving the area in a vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle downtown and two men ages 39 and 41, and two women ages 32 and 35 have been taken into custody.

 

Drug Search and Arrest

Four people have been arrested and now face a number drug possession charges.

Greater Sudbury Police used a search warrant on Tuesday to nab the suspects and take 70 grams of crack cocaine, 23 grams of powdered cocaine and a loaded firearm off the street.

The approximate value of the drugs was 10 thousand dollars.

 

Unsafe Driving Stats for June

Last month Greater Sudbury Police put a focus on unsafe driving handing out 321 tickets.

It was also Impact 6/21 Memorial Month, which focuses on stopping drinking and driving, however 14 people were charged with impaired driving throughout the month.

That’s 14 in 1,608 vehicles checked.

In July police will focus on speeding as part of their 12-Month High Visibility Initiative.
