A six year old boy had to be flown to Sick Kids in Toronto after being hit by a car Saturday afternoon.

Greater Sudbury Police say he was hit on Second Avenue in the area of Scarlett Road and Kenwood Street.

As of Sunday evening the boy had undergone surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.

Police say they have heard from a number of witnesses, and are currently looking into evidence and video footage.

Officers would also like to thank the bystanders and off duty officer who rushed to the child’s aid.
