Teacher, Hockey Coach Arrested In Sudbury For Sexual Assault

A 76-year old Sudbury man is facing sexual assault charges stemming from a crime that’s almost 50-years old.

James David Hickey was arrested by OPP Friday and taken to Toronto where he’s been charged with sexually assaulting a boy in 1970.

Police says the accused worked in Toronto as an elementary teacher and hockey coach from the 1970’s to 90’s but did not name any schools or teams he was involved with.

They believe there could be other victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
