Over 45 local businesses stand to benefit from a 9.6 million dollar investment from the provincial government for local expansions and job creation.

The money is through the NOHFC which will go towards everything from mining to craft brewing, tourism to film and TV production, health care to food processing.

The biggest investment was 1.5 million dollars to Glowbies Inc, allowing them to produce seasons two through four of their animated Children’s show called Glowbies.

Director Donnie Anderson says the money has allowed them to make the permanent move from Toronto to Sudbury.

Other major investments were one million to Legend Boats and close to a million for MIRARCO Mining Innovation.

It will go towards 12 new mining services and technology projects, five new film and TV projects, six small business expansions and 24 new paid internships for recent graduates.

The investments will help create at least 175 new jobs and retain thousands of others.
