Lady Gaga will be getting some help from friend Tony Bennett when she performs at the Super Bowl halftime show on February 5. “In the 10 seconds before the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl Halftime Show, the brand will count down to Lady Gaga‘s epic performance with an unforgettable lead-in featuring legendary singer Tony Bennett,” Pepsi said on Wednesday in a statement. Radio.com notes that no other guest performers have been announced for Gaga’s halftime set. She and Bennett co-released the album Cheek to Cheek in 2014 and are reportedly working on a followup project. The NFL is denying reports that Lady Gaga was told to steer clear of politics during her Super Bowl halftime show next month. “The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together,” a league spokesperson tells TMZ. “Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans…We aren’t going to be distracted by this.” The spokesperson adds, “This is unsourced nonsense from people trying to stir up controversy where there is none.” Reports that the anti-Trump singer was banned from talking politics first surfaced earlier Tuesday. Meanwhile, Billboard notes that Gaga will buck recent halftime-show traditions and perform her entire set alone, without any special guests.
