A Sudbury man was handed impaired driving charges after fleeing from a RIDE check, only to get into a single vehicle collision a short distance later.

55-year old William Rorison entered an OPP RIDE check in Markstay-Warren Sunday afternoon around 3:30, had a short chat with officers, but drove off.

After crashing, he was arrested by police and handed three charges.

The Special Investigations Unit has been notified because of Rorison’s interaction with Police officers.
