The Sudbury and District Health Unit says there is no cause for alarm with the number of beaches in the Greater Sudbury area that have warning signs posted.

Rylan Yade says Blue Green Algae has been present in local lakes for thousands of years but there are a couple factors for blooms to pop up.

Yade says it also may seem like there are more cases because the word is spread.

Yade says warning signs at Bell Park will likely remain there for the rest of the summer as a precaution.

Signs on two Manitoulin beaches(Sandy Ridge and Providence Bay) are for possible E. coli bacteria and beach goers should not use the water.
