“I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now. Why? Because she’s dead.”

That sets the tone for Taylor Swift’s brand new single, ‘Look What You Made Me Do.’

‘Look What You Made Me Do’ is the first single from Taylor’s upcoming album, Reputation due out November 10th.

There’s one particular section in this song that give me the impression that Taylor was tired of being knocked down by the public and is now choosing to fight back, “But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time
Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time / I’ve got a list of names and yours is in red underlined / I check it once, then I check it twice”.

There will be a lot of speculation over the coming weeks as to whose names are on Taylor’s list in red underline, but fans on social media certainly have their theories…

Another line that may or may not be about Mr. West comes right off the top where Taylor talks about “not liking your titled stage”...

Fans have also picked out another lyric and think may be a shot at Katy Perry, “I don’t like your kingdom keys / They once belonged to me / You ask me for a place to sleep / Locked me out and threw a feast (what?)” , that reference to throwing a “feast”, some think is in reference to Katy’s song, ‘Bon Appetit’.

Earlier this month, rumours began to fly that Taylor was up to something after fans noticed that she wiped out her website, and social media accounts.

Well, now we know why, because the old Taylor is dead.

Taylor continued to play coy by posting a mysterious video with no audio, no words and no other context…

Swifites had their theories on the snake video above as well…

Fans also speculated that the timing of Taylor removing her social media was significant as it was the three-year anniversary of when she announced her 1989 album.

Another fan pointed out that Taylor was listed as having an appearance on Good Morning America, 13 days from the time she removed her social media (which was August 18th).

Taylor has a well documented history with the number 13 as she explained to MTV back in 2009, “The significance of the number 13 on my hand … I paint this on my hand before every show because 13 is my lucky number; for a lot of reasons…It’s really weird.”

She would add, “I was born on the 13th. I turned 13 on Friday the 13th. My first album went gold in 13 weeks. My first #1 song had a 13-second intro…Every time I’ve won an award I’ve been seated in either the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section or row M, which is the 13th letter…Basically whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it’s a good thing.”

The release of ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ comes as a bit of a surprise in that it’s come a bit earlier than expected, well at least according to what Ed Sheeran said in a previous interview with the BBC, “Taylor [Swift] isn’t going to be releasing until probably the end of this year.”

In fact, back in April 2016, Taylor said she wanted to take a little bit of a break, I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened . . . I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something.”

Well, now that break is over and Taylor is back!
