Russell Brand recently sat down with Wendy Williams to chat about his new book, The Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions and he also spoke about ex-wife, Katy Perry however, despite saying things about her in the past, this time around he had nothing but ‘lovely’ things to say about her.

When Wendy asked Russell about Katy and if ‘being famous made their relationship a rollercoaster’, Russell says,

“She was lovely. She’s such a lovely person, I’ve got nothing but love for her,” and on the marriage, “Oh yeah. It’s a bit difficult to tell what’s going on in such a situation. But it was a very, very wonderful time.”

And when Wendy asked about Katy being a judge on the American Idol reboot, plus Katy receiving a $25 million paycheck, Russell says that he wishes Katy all the best, “I don’t know much about American Idol or things like that.  I certainly think that she’s probably a very good judge, so I certainly wouldn’t comment on how much she’s earning in the negative. I wish her all the best in all of her endeavors.”

Russell and Katy married back in 2010 and then 14 months later, Russell filed for divorce which cited, “irreconcilable differences.”

Now a days, Russell is living a very low-key life and being more than 14 years sober.  He also married long-time friend Laura Gallacher and the couple have an 11-month-old daughter.

“The woman I married is called Laura.  We’ve known each other for a very long while.  You know what we got now?” A human baby. It came out of her. It’s been nothing but demanding the moment it emerged…It may well have conquered new territory in my heart and shown me love that I never thought possible.”

And when asked about fatherhood, “Fatherhood changed me in that it empirically proves that I’m not the most important person in the world.”

Isn’t @trewrussellbrand fabulous?
