2017 is definitely a good year for Selena Gomez: she’s been releasing new music at a steady pace, she has top 40 hits between ‘Bad Liar’, ‘It Ain’t Me’ and ‘Fetish’ and just recently, dropped a brand new track with Marshmello called ‘Wolves’.

The good news … Selena says there’s MORE to come and soon.

Selena, during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe says, “I’m ready. I want to get back in and re-focus on all of my music.  To be honest, I feel like I have two albums already completed, but I’m wanting to figure it out. So it’s a lot sooner than I think people anticipate. I want to call the shots, I want it to be good, I want to be ready, I don’t want to do anything that’s forced. It will be soon.”

During the interview, Selena opened up about taking time off from her hectic work schedule and how she wants to release music on her own terms: “I wanted my music to be a lot more meaningful, to be honest…. I just wanted to take my time.  I didn’t want it to be crowded by over-glamorized things and the pop world can just be really distracting sometimes. This year, I did it at my own pace.”

It was only last year that Selena canceled her Revival World Tour before stepping out of the spotlight for three months and just recently, Selena revealed that due to her struggle with Lupus, it lead to her needing a kidney transplant.

I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made. Selena and Zane also spoke about her new track with Marshmello called Wolves“The song is very beautiful and personal. Weirdly, at the same time I was working on it in Japan, I was going through stuff too, so it’s mirrored everything.”

Selena also admitted that she’s already heard Taylor Swifts new album Reputation and she’s a ‘major fan’, “Would you expect any less?  She’s killin’ it. It’s everything you would want and more.”

Revival was the last album Selena put out and that was back in 2015.  As of right now, she says that she has two albums worth of songs so whenever she’s ready to drop an album, we’re ready for it!
