Will Smith has been very vocal about the fact that he has NO desire to be in a ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ reboot. He was once quoted saying:

‘Stuff had to go really wrong for there to be a Fresh Prince reunion special” adding ‘Like, I don’t know what would have to happen! Nah man, you can’t touch stuff like that. ‘It’s so nostalgic for people – I’m not going nowhere near that.’

But could there be a Fresh Princess of Bel-Air on the way?

TMZ reports that the company that owns the rights to “Fresh Prince” has has locked down the rights to “Fresh Princess” for a TV program

Apparently, they’ve also looking to trademark the “Fresh Princess” on a bunch of merch items as well (clothing, backpacks, pet collars, etc).

No word on whether Will Smith would be involved in a female-focused reboot.

Recently, Smith shared images that were drawn by a comic artist who re-imagined the show as an animated series. At the time, Will seemed to be a fan of the idea of doing an animated series.

Smith wrote alongside the image: “Now THIS is what’s up! I had to post this hot piece by @thesketchlab. Never thought about FP in terms of animation”
