Greater Sudbury police are hoping the public can help identify the driver of a large dump truck with a dump trailer that killed a senior citizen in Garson yesterday.  We have a picture of the vehicle involve posted above and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crimestoppers.
An 86 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck by the vehicle around 3:15 at the intersection of Falconbridge road and Penman Avenue.
The driver of the southbound vehicle did not stop and was last seen travelling south on on Falconbridge road by the Tim Hortons.
The road was closed a short time later and did not reopen until around 9:00 last night. The victims identity is not being released at the request of his family.
UPDATE:
Sudbury Police are saying a pedestrian was hit by a transport in Garson, closing Falconbridge Road.
Now officers are asking for the publics help as the tractor trailer didn’t remain at the scene.
The collision happened around 3:15 at the intersection of Falconbridge Road and Penman Avenue, the transport was travelling southbound when it hit a pedestrian at the intersection.
Police confirmed the pedestrian was killed.
The tractor trailer was last seen heading southbound on Falconbridge Road near the Tim Hortons.
Members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Traffic Management Unit and Patrol Operations continue to investigate.

Falconbridge Road is closed in both directions and access to Garson is restricted after a fatal collision this afternoon.

Police, fire and paramedics were called around 3 pm and have barricaded the road from Pilotte Road to Margaret Street and have restricted access to certain back roads.

There is no word on how many vehicle were involved or if it involved a pedestrian and if there were any injuries.

Motorists are asked to used Garson/Coniston Road to access the North part of Garson beyond Margaret Street.

The entrance to and exit from the strip mall along Falconbridge Road will be closed off while officers investigate.
