Today was such a blast!  I got to participate in so many cool events all around the city!  First thing this morning was Miners Mayhem, put on by the Northern Cancer Foundation!  There was a huge obstacle course set up all around Kivi Park, which lasted about 6.5 kilometers.

All of the people participating had such an amazing time getting all wet, sweaty and muddy!  The athletes definitely had a challenge ahead of them! Some runners were able to complete the run in under 50 minutes, but some got stuck in the mud, and even lost some shoes, and took a little longer.  The amount of work that was put into this event was truly astounding, and the support from all participants in the community was fantastic!

Later in the day, I headed over too the Metro in Val Caron to take a peak at the Local UN NATO Veterans Charity BBQ!  I had some really good food, and got to meet some amazing local soldiers and veterans.  Sparky the fire dog even showed up for a surprise visit!  The live music was beautiful, and the face painting was really impressive!  I also got to go to the Garson Foodland for the Charity BBQ with all proceeds going towards the Garson FoodBank.  They had a bouncy castle, popcorn, and cotton candy, as well as hot dogs and sausages!  They even let me try to make the cotton candy by myself! It was so much fun!

I had such an amazing day out and about in the community today, seeing all the ways that we are giving back to people in need and helping so many different charities!
