A study on a possible all-season road in the Ring Of Fire area has been given the green light by the Federal and Provincial government.

The 785 thousand dollar study was announced at the kick-off of the 2015 Prospectors and Developers of Canada(PDAC) International Convention in Toronto yesterday.

The study will look into how to connect First Nation communities in the area of Northern Ontario with existing roads, which would allow access to resource developments including the Ring Of Fire mining project.

The Ring of Fire is a large, resource-rich area which could contain up to 50 billion dollars in mineral deposits.

Bigger At PDAC

Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger is in Toronto as well to take in the PDAC International Convention.

PDAC began in 1932 and is one of the world’s largest mining and mineral exploration conference.

For Bigger this is the first time he is taking in the conference, and hopes to help showcase Northern mining businesses and build future relationships

The Northern Ontario businesses and Operations will have a near 6 thousand square foot space to show off to visitors from over 100 countries.

The conference runs until Wednesday.
