With the mild temperatures there has been a noticeable start to the snowmelt, but flooding is not yet a concern.

Officials with the Nickel District Conservation Authority say as a matter of fact there is less moisture in the snowpack compared to other years.

N-D-C-A General Manager Carl Jorgensen says the big concern is not so much the snow, but the amount of rain we get as the temperatures climb.

He says they’re keeping a close eye on the conditions.

Jorgensen says so far conditions have been ideal….mild with some melting during the day and then colder temperatures at night.
