Police officers were out stopping cars over the weekend but gave out no tickets, instead they collected money in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Toll.

It was 10th year for the toll where officers with the Greater Sudbury Police Service were joined by other police services and special Olympic athletes up at the Riocan and Silver Hills Centres.

Sgt. Marjorie Jeffery says they won’t have final numbers until early next week, but expects close to 25 thousand dollars.

To date 190 thousand dollars has been raised for Special Olympics Ontario.
