A child was killed by a large boulder after the rocks underneath him shifted, south of Parry Sound.

West Parry Sound O-P-P say the six-year-old boy from Seguin Township, had been on a nature watch with his father last night, along Rankin Lake Road, when he went missing.

He was found pinned underneath the large rock.

C-P-R was given, but the child later died in hospital.

Police determined the boy had been climbing when the rocks shifted, wedging him under the large rock.

He has been identified as six year old Fynn Bywater.
