If secondary teachers across Rainbow District School Board walk off the job at the end of the month there will be no school for students.

The Board decided instructional programs for Grades 9 to 12 students will be cancelled in the event of a strike by both high school and secondary occasional teachers.

This also includes extra curricular activities, field trips, Co-op placements and school events.

Buses to all high schools across the board’s jurisdiction would not operate.

The board says its committed to working out a new local deal with the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, the union representing high school teachers.

The teachers are poised to strike April 27th if a new agreement can’t be worked out.
