The Rainbow District School Board and the local Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation will be back at the bargaining table tomorrow, but the president of OSSTF District 3 believes a strike is inevitable.

This past week the Durham Region hit the picket lines and James Clyke says teachers in the Rainbow District School Board will most likely strike on Monday.

Clyke says the strike will affect students, but a bad work environment for teachers means a bad learning environment for students.

Teachers with the local school board last were on strike in 2012.

Monday would be a professional development day, so the first day of no classes would be Tuesday.

The teachers have been without a contract since August, and 500 local teachers would walk out if a strike were to happen.
