Henderson-headshot

Canadian hockey icon Paul Henderson was in Sudbury to spread his message of spirituality.

Henderson, who will always be known for scoring the series winning goal against the Russians in 1972, was the guest speaker Thursday night at the Christian Athletes Banquet.

He became a born-again Christian in 1975 and is now a motivational speaker taking his message of spirituality across Canada and around the world.

Henderson says it’s much easier now to balance your faith while being an athlete.

Meantime, Henderson says he never gets tired of talking about the 72 series because it’s such a big part of Canadian history.
