It’s hard to believe right now, but there is a positive out of the passing of KiSS Morning Show Co-host Rich Griffin.

Rich suffered a brain aneurysm over the weekend and was put on life support.

Yesterday, in his final act of giving, he donated his organs to others, including his heart.

Dr. Martin Shine, who has been promoting organ and tissue donation at Health Sciences North for years, says this decision shows why it’s so important to not only register your consent but to discuss that decision with your family.

It only takes a few minutes to register on-line at www.beadonor.ca.

As we’ve seen from Rich’s donations, being an organ donor can save up to eight lives.

His legacy will live on, not only in his young daughter Zoe, but in the lives of the people he helped with his organ donation.

According to Rich’s wife Nancy, he was able to donate his heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas and eyes.

Meanwhile there are still no details about funeral arrangements for Rich at this time.

Rich is being remembered as a loving family man, a key member of the community and was loved by thousands of radio listeners.
