The John Howard Society in Sudbury has spent the past 55-years helping turn lives around.

The agency on Pine Street helps re-integrate individuals into the community, who are or have been in conflict with the law.

Executive Director John Rimore says every year they try to help almost two thousand people re-integrate into the community after incarceration.

He says individuals absolutely can change their lives.

Since the branch opened in Sudbury, the John Howard Society has been instrumental in helping turn tens of thousands of lives locally.

John C. Moore has been going to the Pine Street location for more than two decades.

He says the staff and volunteers aren’t judgmental and treat him and others “like human beings”.

He says it’s a struggle to adjust after coming out of the prison system, but the John Howard Society helps make that transition better.

To mark the 55-year milestone, the Sudbury location has launched a postcard campaign to inform the community about aspects of the justice system they might not have known.
