The Canadian Cancer Society says cancer is a national issue that requires a national response during the upcoming federal election campaign.

It wants the next federal government to take immediate action to address the issue of end-of-life care and to immediately introduce legislation to establish a comprehensive national palliative care strategy.

The society also wants Ottawa to take immediate action on tobacco control and commit to long-term health research.

Cathy Keaney-Burns is the Community Manger at the Sudbury Branch of the Canadian Cancer Society….she says the goal is to get the message out to all the candidates.
