There is an urgent call for volunteers to deliver meals for Meals On Wheels Sudbury.

According to Executive Director Kelly Zinger, the agency needs volunteer drivers to take home-cooked meals to clients who live in Rayside-Balfour, Dowling, Onaping. Levack, the Valley or Capreol.

She says without more volunteers Meals On Wheels Sudbury would be forced to limit its frequency of meal delivery to these areas.

Zinger says volunteers could pick up the meals at drop-off depot spot (a business) instead of having to drive in to Sudbury.

Anyone interested must have a insured and operable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

Volunteers would be provided with a gas subsidy for use of their vehicle.

Singer says all potential volunteers are interviewed and then trained by the agency prior to their first delivery.
