PhD candidate Charlotte Proudman says LinkedIn is no place to compliment a woman’s appearance, “professionals are using LinkedIn as if it were Tinder. There are websites designed for professionals to date. There is no need to use LinkedIn’.

She said this after receiving an “offensive” and “sexist” message from a married man by the name of Alexander Carter-Silk that reads: “I appreciate that this is probably horrendously politically incorrect, but that is a stunning picture!!!” You definitely win the prize for the best Linked in picture I have ever seen,”

She is receiving harsh criticism for “over-reacting” and tweeting the private message and her response to it – which read:

She is refusing to accept his apology and told critics: “I am not a man-hating Feminazi”

“I have received messages saying: ‘You have ruined your career. You have bitten the hand that feeds you.” and “You don’t look that great’ and ‘It’s just a compliment’. She says it just shows the “extent of sexism in the legal profession” – which she says, is male dominated.
IS SHE OVER-REACTING? HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED THIS ON LINKEDIN?
