LeFrenchFest

By Angela Gemmill

There is a new street festival to help celebrate Francophone culture in Greater Sudbury.

Le French Fest goes tonight downtown, around Elgin and Larch Street, as part of Franco-Ontarian Day.

Organizer Dave Poulin says it’s open to everyone -both French and English -and it’s all free.

He says there will be a number of local Francophone artists performing, along with street performers and French cuisine, like poutine, meat pies and sugar pies.

Poulin says whether the festival returns in future years will depend on the success of tonight’s event.
