Explosives experts from the military were called in Saturday afternoon after a grenade was found on the lawn of a home on Struthers Street.

Greater Sudbury Police closed one block of the road between Regent and Prete Street during the investigation.

A three-house radius was evacuated as a precaution.

The National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces Explosives Ordinance Disposal Unit were expected in Sudbury late Saturday to remove the grenade.

It’s the second time in less than two weeks a grenade was found.

On September 15 one was found in a home on Frood Road during renovations and required military experts to remove it.
