Laurentian Enters Indigenous Education Week

It will be a busy five days at Laurentian University as the post secondary institution kicked off Indigenous Education Week.

The week will feature keynote speakers, activities and education sessions with the theme this year being Transforming the Landscape.

Vice-President of Academic and Indigenous Programs, Sheila Cote-Meek talked about what she hopes people take away a better understanding of working together.

Cote-Meek also says one of the recommendations from the historic Truth and Reconciliation report is that universities step up and bridge gaps between first nations and the rest of Canada.

Cote-Meek says anybody is welcome, the events are all free and open to the public.
