Elementary teachers at public schools across the province are stepping up work-to-rule actions starting today.

According to their union, ETFO, the teachers won’t supervise any extra curricular activities until they get a new and fair contract.

The union, the school boards and the provincial government continue to negotiate for a new collective agreement.

But it was last week when ETFO, which represents 78-thousand elementary public school teachers, said its members would escalate job action.

In Sudbury, elementary teachers with Rainbow School Board plan to rally outside local MPP Glenn Thibeault’s office this afternoon.
