From The Ground Up

Sudbury is looking to embark on a new path of prosperity as city council adopted the strategic plan “From The Ground Up.”

The plan, developed by the Strategic Plan Steering Committee has a goal of creating 10 thousand new net jobs by 2025, by investing in areas like tourism, mining supply and services and health and life sciences.

It’s a lofty goal but Co-Chair of the Steering Committee, Jim Marchbank says it’s the right path to take.

Ward 5 City Councillor Robert Kirwan says there has to be follow up so it doesn’t just become another plan.

A “scorecard” will be developed each year to track progress and citizens can get involved with the “Resourceful City Speakers Series” which will focus on goals and priorities of the plan.

The first is November 23, at 5 pm in the concert hall of College Boreal.
