Salvation Army Christmas Kettles are now out across Sudbury.

A dozen red and white collection buckets have been posted at locations across the city.

They’ll be available for the next month to raise money for the less fortunate in Greater Sudbury.

Community Ministries Coordinator, Caroline Lewis says those who give donations know the Salvation Army will spread the funds to those who need it most.

The Sudbury goal is to raise $205,000 this year.

The money will help the Salvation Army fund Christmas hampers for hundreds of households and will also fund year-round programming for children, youth and families.

The Kettle Campaign has been running across Canada for over 100 years, which Lewis says shows it’s a trusted way to help the less fortunate in our community.
