After some over indulgence on treats during the holiday season, many people are hoping to eat healthier in the New Year.

Registered Dietician at the Sudbury & District Health Unit, Paula Ross, has some advice to help anyone who may have set this as their New Year’s Resolution.

Ross says make small, realistic changes, people often get into trouble when they make major changes that shift their common behaviour which makes the goals not sustainable.

Ross also says to choose wholesome, nutritious foods like fruits and vegetables and eat regularly, especially breakfast which will set us up for the rest of the day.

Along with healthy eating, Ross stresses that physical activity and good sleep habits are also important.
