Festive RIDE Checkpoint with police
Festive RIDE Checkpoint with police

Almost eight thousand vehicles were checked during the month of December, when Greater Sudbury Police had Festive RIDE checks set up across the city.

Sixty-five drivers were administered roadside screenings, with two charges laid for Impaired Driving.

That’s compared to six from the same time in 2014.

There were also a dozen drivers issued either three-day, seven-day or 30-day license suspension for blowing in the warn range at the RIDE stops.

Four other drivers -stopped during regular patrols- were also charged with Impaired Driving.

Greater Sudbury Police Services feels its promotional and educational efforts over the past month helped keep roads safer.
